Invited by a large Dutch Tour Operator, we went on a 5-day work trip to Portugal and explored the beautiful Algarve region including it’s excursion possibilities and the best accommodations to stay in the area.
It was a trip organised via my work and a great way to explore the highlights of the Algarve. It was only 5 days and our itinerary was jam packed, so I will definitely be back to travel to Portugal with the family. It’s a great destination for any age.
I really loved the Algarve and its Portuguese vibe. There are many nice and cozy villages with terraces where you can sip your glass of port, stroll around little boutique shops, boulevards and the beautiful beaches surrounded by rocks and wildflowers.
The beautiful hinterland of the Algarve is also definitely worth visiting. You will find these typical cute Portuguese villages with beautiful little white houses, fruit trees, older people who come together for a game of cards. Mountains in the background. I believe life in Portugal is just relaxed and easy going.
To explore the hinterland of the Algarve you can rent a car or go on a 4×4 Safari if you don’t want to drive yourself. A unique experience where you will be exploring the Algarve’s best hidden secrets.
If you want to stay close to the coast and the beach, and just chill out, the Algarve has many villages to choose from.
For lot’s of shopping, eating and drinking you go to Albufeira or Praia da Oura, where you find the famous ‘Strip’ The place to be for a good party.
If you like it quiet, you go for places like Carvoeiro, Alvor, Olhos d’Agua or Armacao de Pera. Here you will find beautiful beaches, small streets, and centers.
