The taxi was driving further and further away from the hustle and bustle of busy Seminyak – Which is only 10 minutes away, but still… We looked at each other and were wondering where the driver would drop us off.

We had the route and the address in English and Indonesian as apparently taxi drivers and visitors sometimes had trouble finding this little gem.

We were on our way to 4Quarters in Canggu, a set of beautifully designed ( and very Instagramable ) villas in Bali’s new hot spot Canggu.

Canggu is only a short drive away from busy places like Seminyak and Kuta – where tourism has exploded over the years – but in Canggu, you can still find the good old untouched, super chill surfers vibe along with awesome beach clubs and pretty awesome designed cafes with amazing coffee’s, raw & organic food, and super smoothies.

The perfect place to relax for a few days. And relaxing we did!

4Quarters Villa’s Canggu

The taxi took a left turn from the main road and after 100-meter we stopped in front of 4Quarters. As soon as we stepped out, two super friendly ( almost shy ) ladies came outside to help with our luggage and escorted us to our villa.

As soon as one of the ladies opened the massive metal sliding door, Semmie’s excitement levels skyrocketed to the top – and so did ours! ‘Swimming pool! Mum! Dad! Elephant! Look at that! Wauw!’

Not only the swimming pool and the beautifully painted elephant was Wauw, but basically every single detail in the villa.

4Quarters are new and uniquely designed industrial chic private pool villas with everything you need ( and more ) in a holiday villa on Bali.

The villas have massive bathrooms with two open-air showers, double sinks, beautiful antique-brass fittings and a beautiful mirror wall.

The spacious bedroom with is decorated with amazing wall art, a LED TV, great design items and has a super comfy bed. When you wake up in the morning, you can jump straight into the pool. Or if you start up slow, just chill out in bed, open the sliding doors and take in the first sun rays and breeze ( if there is any 😉 ) of the day, and enjoy that beautiful colorful elephant on the wall in the swimming pool area. Seriously I just couldn’t stop looking at it…

The outside area is all built around the large pool ( which includes a floatie! ) When I learned about 4Quarters I fell in love with that elephant, so I was very happy that we got the villa with the elephant painting. But don’t worry, all the villas are stunningly designed and all have their unique wall art and design items. – Makes you wanna come back another time to check out one of the other villa’s 🙂

The open living room and kitchen are beautifully connected with the pool/outside area, the furniture is made from recycled metal and timer, and they have amazing industrial lightning. Not kidding, This villa at 4Quarters is a living display of almost all the things we would love to have in our future home. One day 😉

There is also a LED TV with cable and on-demand movies, Bluetooth stereo, and free high-speed Wifi. And we can confirm that the Wifi was indeed high speed and very good, as we even managed to look back the reunion of the Dutch version of Farmer Wants a Wife ( Boer zoekt vrouw in Dutch ) God we love that show 😉

Then there is a self-contained kitchen with a 4-burner gas stove, fridge, toaster, electric kettle, coffee plunger and cooking utensils, but if you want to get spoiled, get your food and drinks from the next door 4Quarters cafe. They also provide room service.

If you decide to stay in your villa all day, weekend or even week ( not a very bad option either 😉 ) and you would like housekeeping to come in, just call or SMS them with your villa phone.

There is no standard time for housekeeping, so basically staff at 4Quarters keeping an eye out for when you are leaving your villa, and then they will do their duties. Super chill, as in this way you’ve got 100 % privacy.

I mean didn’t we all had a situation before when you walk around naked ( fresh from the shower ) in your hotel room and you didn’t put the ‘don’t disturb’ card at your front door ( or locked it from the inside – if even possible )  and the next thing you hear is a knock and half a second later a peep ( of the keycard unlocking the door ) and a cleaner coming in 😉

Not at 4Quarters as there is no door handle where you can hang a don’t disturb card on, plus… if you wish you can lock the door from the inside so nobody can come in.  Safe, Secluded and Private.

Another great thing about 4Quarters is the villa phone which is included and is available for you to call housekeeping, a restaurant or a taxi.

Talking about a taxi… When staying at 4Quarters, you kinda need some form of transport if you want to be flexible, or go everywhere by taxi ( Only use the real Bluebird Taxi’s – the light blue caps with the Blue Bird on their sign ) You can call them with your villa phone or use the Bluebird app, which is already installed on the phone and is super easy to use.

4Quarters staff can help you with renting a scooter ( with a rack for your surfboard if you need this ) a bicycle, or organize a private driver to bring you anywhere you want to go.

The closest Supermarket, cafe’s and shops are around 800 meters from the villa and the beach is like a 5-minute walk ( this is when you are not traveling with kids 😉 )

4Quarters Cafe Canggu

Is part of 4quarters villa’s and is serving delicious coffee and fresh food. We ordered one time lunch and two times breakfast at the cafe, and although we had to wait quite a little bit for our food to arrive each time and the French Toast looked a bit different than French Toast as we used too, we all really enjoyed it!

Also, definitely have a look inside of the cafe, as it is just as stunningly and uniquely designed as the villas at 4Quarters.

All villas have one large bedroom with a king size bed, with a maximum occupancy of 2 adults. However, 4Quarters can accommodate one extra person on a mattress in the bedroom or one child in a cot. For families with small kids, you can also hire a pool fence via 4Quarters if you wish.
